DCS deliver a range of Foundation Learning qualifications including;

• City and Guilds 6218 Award in Basic Construction Skills
• City and Guilds 6218 Certificate in Basic Construction Skills
• City and Guilds 6218 Diploma in Basic Construction Skills
• NCFE Level 1 Award in Creative Crafts
• NCFE Level 2 Award in Creative Crafts
• British safety Council level 1 award in Health and Safety at Work

If you are between 16-19 years old and want to gain a qualification in construction skills then you could train at DCS. You will have tasters in a variety of trades and can choose how you want to progress your training. You could achieve City and Guilds qualifications while deciding which trade you want to progress into. you will have the opportunity to try;

• Plastering
• Painting and Decorating 
• Carpentry and Joinery
• Brickwork
• Tiling

You will also have the chance to become involved in one of DCS' external projects, where you will gain valuable on site experience which will enhance your training.

You could progress into an apprenticeship in your chosen trade and we will guide and support you with your choices and how to progress within the construction industry.

if you start our training programme and then decide that construction work is not for you then we will help you to find something else instead. Because we work with a wide network of training providers, employers and colleges we can give you all the available options and support you with advice that is right for you.
