Everyone’s a Winner!
Nick Speight and Wendy Chambers. Nick is the latest addition to the DCS team.Nick Speight, 51, from Gosforth had previously been unemployed for almost 3 years. Nick was sent down for an interview and began a 13 week programme in August 2007 with DCS Training.
During his induction week it became clear that Nick had a real flare with the people around him, a positive attitude and a real desire to succeed.
After being out on Placement with one of DCS Training’s Placement Providers for just a couple of weeks Nick applied for a vacancy at DCS as a Training Advisor. Completing the rest of his time on placement with DCS, Nick found the recognition from the Management Team and was offered the position.
Lee Harbisher MD of DCS said;
‘It is really difficult to find people that deal with people the way that we like to handle things here. Treating everyone with respect is at the top of our list. Nick has a really positive attitude and is really keen to help the lads get on. He has all the skills and experience that we were looking for and real potential for some of the things that we have in mind for the progression of the business.’DCS are going to be investing plenty of money into shaping Nick into a learning coach by putting him through his NVQ assessors Award, his A1 assessors Award and his L Units in Coaching and Teaching. Nick was thrilled to have won his place at DCS, though ‘not as thrilled as Mrs. Speight!’ He would also like to thank the DCS Management Team for giving him this opportunity and his advice to anyone going onto the New Deal Programme at DCS is
‘The training is Brilliant! And there are jobs out there, you’ve just got to get stuck in and show that you can do it’
It just goes to show a positive mental attitude and a desire to succeed can be just as important as skills or qualifications sometimes.
